Jacksons 2

Believe it or not, one of these is me. I dare to believe that you, my dear visitors (if they are any, apart from the two I know of :)), won't have any problems recognizing which of these is your humble blogger. The other one is, as some know, my twin bro. Paul is his name.

Honestly, I have no idea how many years we had at that time; what I'm sure of is that it was a long time ago:). I infer this from the fact that the only monkey which remained is half-eaten by moles.

I want to emphasize one thing, if you please. Don't be misled by the way we're dressed. Our mother (who is, by the way, the best mother in the world, what is worth mentioning given the day I'm writing this: May, 26th) was pretty considerate and she didn't dress us identically. Therefore, if we ever WERE dressed identically, our Granny was to blame (who, besides, is the best granny in the world). But that did not used to happen very often, thanks God.

Well, I don't remember much from that period, though. But certainly it was a happy, carefree "time of innocence, a time of confidences". And happy my life still is!

Oh, by the way, just to bring the mood in :

Sorry for this post being rather disjointed but this is how I feel today...

Concerning our last blogging task, I really had a job finding a site fitting the requirements. Actually, I haven't found any! The sites I'm going to present are unfortunately NOT dynamic. To compensate this drawback, there are two of them :)!

I've decided to advertise these two because some time ago they helped me get the hang of politics, or - to be more precise - political scene. Let me explain you the circumstances in which I luckily stumbled across these websites...

That was the time of elections in Poland. For the first time in my short life i was allowed to cast a vote. Feeling the immense responsibility, I was trying hard to find out which party is the most conducive to my views. (I must admit that I didn't have the foggiest idea what it was all about.) Unfortunately, I didn't have time to watch all these TV debates, whereas the parties' official pages were of little help. Suddenly, salvation came: http://scenapolityczna.friko.pl/. This one is in Polish, so it is of little interest for us now. But back then it explained almost everything! And the bottom of the page there were - and, actually, still are - a few pages on the topic.

One of them is http://www.politicalcompass.org/. The most useful thing here is the test which you can take to figure out where you stand on the "political map". Obviously, the political map is explained. Moreover, you can compare your position to these of some famous composers and other important people. If that's still not enough, check out the political orientation of US politicians, EU governments, UK parties etc.

On http://www.moral-politics.com/ the test is shorter, but the idea of the map is explained so well that you shouldn't have any more questions after going through it. You'll be also informed what system, ideology and (US) party you should be an adherent of. The site provides you with a bulk of statistics: which ideologies are the most popular? how many people are more liberal or socialist than you? how does it all look like in various countries?

You must check it out yourself. If you're interested in the topic a bit, you won't regret!

"Z g***a i ze stali powstało Atari"

Forgive me the Polish title but it seems to be very adequate an introduction... Yes, ladies & gentlemen, Atari was the name of this marvellous electronic device. What was the year? 1993, I guess... A gift of charity from my uncle whose parents bought it some 10 years before he decided to pass it to me and my bro.

Lo and behold...

Isn't it awe-inspiring? I know it is!

This piece of art was already archaic when we got it, but this gift made my day anyway. It didn't matter that you had to wait even half an hour to get a game booted in. Do you remember, old gamers, "River Raid" and "Pac Man"?

Time passed and I started my adventure with programming. This fascination of mine lasted for more than a year and I must admit that I was fairly prolific! Fruits of my work included, among others, such masterpieces as "Cześć, to ja komputer" and... eh, can't recall any other :)

That is how it started.
